When creating a new path, there are two things that must be done. First you must make a channel for the new path with the appropriate permissions and roles. Then you must add the path to MEE6’s role reaction so that Pathbuilders can find new paths with the bot.
Prior to creating the channel, we first need to make a role that we will tie into the MEE6 role reaction so that our Pathbuilders can see the path channel without everyone else being able to see it. Next to the server name, there is a gear icon. Click on that gear icon the select “Server Settings” [See the left picture]. On the next page, you’ll see a sidebar with “Roles” in it. Click that, then click the “Create Role”. It will open an Edit Role page. [See the right picture]. Change the name to the path name + PATH. In the example, the path is called EXAMPLE so I’ve set the role name to EXAMPLE PATH. Change the Role Color to blue, the 3rd square. Then click the “Save Changes” button on the bottom right. You don’t need to set any permissions. They should all be off by default. Remember, we don’t want to use this role to directly add any permissions; it will only be used by MEE6 to assign some visibility.
To create a channel, click on the + sign next to the “Paths” category.
Give your path a name and add a cool emoji to make it stand out! Make sure to set the channel to private. Then click next. Add the role you just made. Then click “Create Channel”.
Go to mee6.xyz and sign in with your Discord account. You should see this on your MEE6 dashboard now.
Click on “Go” to go to the TokenSummitDAO dashboard. Then scroll down to Reaction Roles. It’ll be under the Server Management tab. You’ll see on this page that we have a reaction role called #path-selector. Click on it. We’re going to edit it.
In the message template, add the same emoji you added to the front of your channel title, along with the name of your path.
Scroll down to the Reaction and Roles then click the “Add Reaction” button. Add the emoji you used for the path name and the role that you created earlier.
Before scrolling up to the top and clicking “Save & Close”, we need to go to the path-selector channel and delete the previous MEE6 message. You must delete the whole message from the channel, not just the embed. Then click “Save & Close” up top and it will add the reaction the message.
